Mensa is the international high IQ society. It was formed in 1946 by Roland Berrill and Dr. Lancelot Ware. The only requirement to join is a score at or above the 98th percentile on any approved standardized intelligence test. Mensa has three stated purposes: to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity; to encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence; and to provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members. Mensa consist of over 100,000 members in 50 different national groups. Members vary in political affiliation, religion, employment, education, interest, and range in age from 3 to 102. There are many famous and prominent members. Mensa is a society free of social distinctions and welcomes all people whose IQ is within the top 2 percentile.

Baton Rouge Mensa covers Louisiana from Texas to Mississippi and from New Orleans to Alexandria. It includes groups in Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and Hammond. All of the groups are small and personal and ready to work for their members. How do they work for their members? Belonging to Mensa is more than joining an organization. Mensa offers its members the chance to enjoy benefits and opportunities that cannot be paralleled. Mensa contains special interest groups that connect people with the same passions. Whether you are in to diving or astronomy, there are thousands of Mensans in America meeting nationwide to discuss it. Mensa holds annual gatherings and events that offer members the opportunity to socialize with, listen to, and learn from the people on the cutting edge of every field of study and interest. Mensa membership is an achievement and a testament to your potential. Mensa will not only lead you to others who share your ambitions and desires, and not just to others who have the same intellectual prowess and potential, but to a new world of opportunity and enjoyment. Take the Mensa test or submit an accepted test score today and let Mensa work for you.
